No theme editing, nothing to paste into footer.php, and nothing to redo when your theme updates.

What it does

Learns your site. Pages, posts and WooCommerce products (with prices and stock) are sent to Botly so the bot answers from real, current data. Changes are picked up as you save them.

Answers in the visitor's language. The Botly service replies in the language the visitor writes in.

Shows the widget where you want it. Everywhere, only on certain pages, or everywhere except certain pages. Hidden on cart and checkout by default so it never covers the payment button.

Order Desk for WooCommerce (optional, off by default). Once the Botly service has verified that a chat visitor is one of your customers, they can check their order status and tracking, get their downloads and licence emails resent, receive their invoice, and ask for a refund or cancellation. Requests are only recorded; nothing is refunded or cancelled automatically.

Support requests (optional, off by default). When the bot cannot help, the visitor's problem is emailed to you, with Reply-To set to them. On marketplaces (WooCommerce Product Vendors, Dokan, WCFM, WC Vendors, MultiVendorX) a complaint about a seller's product can go straight to that seller.

Light on your site. The widget script loads deferred in the footer from a cached token, so pages never wait on Botly. If Botly is unreachable, your site is unaffected — the widget simply does not appear.

What you need

A Botly account. The free plan is enough to get started; paid plans add more websites, more messages and more features. See Botly pricing.

This plugin is free and fully functional. Plan limits (number of websites and messages) are applied by the Botly service, not by the plugin.

External services

This plugin connects your site to Botly, a hosted AI chat service run by Digital Param LLC. It cannot work without it. Here is exactly what is sent, when, and where.

1. Pairing and status checks — https://botly.digitalparam.com

When: when you enter a pairing code, when you press "Check again" on the settings page, and in the background if the cached widget token goes missing.

What is sent: the pairing code, your site's address, and the versions of WordPress, WooCommerce (if installed) and this plugin. Every request after pairing is signed with a secret shared only between your site and Botly.

2. Content sync — https://botly.digitalparam.com

When: when you run "Sync everything now", and whenever a published post, page or product is saved, trashed or deleted. Content sync can be switched off, and you choose which post types are included.

What is sent: the title, address, excerpt, text content, categories and last-modified date of each included item, plus price and stock for WooCommerce products. Drafts and private content are never sent.

3. The chat widget — served by https://botly.digitalparam.com

When: on every front-end page where the widget is set to appear.

What is sent: your visitor's browser loads the widget script from Botly's server. Messages a visitor types into the chat, and standard request data such as their IP address and browser, are processed by Botly to produce answers. Answers are generated by the AI provider configured in your Botly account.

4. Order Desk — requests come from Botly to your site (off by default)

When: only if you switch Order Desk on.

How a visitor is verified: verification happens in the Botly service, not in this plugin. The plugin's only part is to answer whether an email address Botly sends it belongs to a registered customer who has placed orders. Every order request after that is limited to that one customer's orders.

What is shared with Botly: order number, date, status, total, currency, the names and quantities of the items bought, the customer's name, shipment tracking details, and whether the order contains downloads. Email addresses are masked. Billing and shipping addresses, phone numbers and payment details are never sent. Download links and licence keys are never shown in the chat — they are emailed by WooCommerce to the order's own address.

5. Support requests — requests come from Botly to your site (off by default)

When: only if you switch support requests on, and a visitor reports a problem the bot could not answer.

What happens: the visitor's name, email address and message are sent from Botly to your site, which emails them to you (or to the seller of the product), using your site's own email setup.

Botly's terms and privacy policy:

Terms of Service: https://digitalparam.com/terms/

Privacy Policy: https://digitalparam.com/privacy-policy/

Install and activate Digital Param AI Chatbot from Plugins → Add New.

Sign up or log in at botly.digitalparam.com, add your website, and copy its pairing code.

In WordPress, open the Botly menu, paste the code and press Connect.

Press Sync everything now so the bot learns your pages, posts and products.

Optional: switch on Order Desk and support requests on the same page.

Colours, bot name, welcome message and everything the bot knows about your business are managed in your Botly dashboard — changes there show up on your site straight away.

Do I need a Botly account?

Yes. While Botly Connector is active, this plugin pauses itself so the two never run together.

Deleting the plugin now removes all of its settings. Updates from the plugin directory happen in place and are not affected.

Email rate limits (order resend, invoice, support requests) now hold even when requests arrive at the same moment.

2.7.0

New: a verified customer can ask for the invoice for one of their orders. It
goes as WooCommerce's own order-details email; if PDF Invoices & Packing Slips
is installed, its PDF invoice is attached. The PDF is a temporary file that is
deleted as soon as the email has gone. At most three a day per order, and
never for an order that has not been paid.

2.6.0

New: a customer who has verified in the chat can ask for their downloads and
licence keys again. The download limit and expiry are reset first, so the link
in the new email actually works, and the email is WooCommerce's own. Keys and
links never appear in the chat. At most three a day per order.

2.5.0

New: the order Botly is shown now includes how it can be tracked — from
Shipment Tracking or Advanced Shipment Tracking, or from a field you name —
and whether it contains downloads, so a customer asking "where is my order"
gets told the truth about a digital purchase.

2.4.0

New: Botly can now ask this site what it is able to do — whether WooCommerce
is running, whether shipments can be tracked, how licences and invoices are
handled, and whether there are vendors. Features that a site cannot support
are no longer offered to its visitors at all.

2.3.0

Now finds the seller on shops running WooCommerce Product Vendors, which
files sellers as taxonomy terms rather than making them the product's
author. 2.2.x looked only at the author, found a member of staff, and sent
every complaint to the shop owner instead of the seller.

The address on the seller's term is used when there is one, otherwise the
address of whoever administers that seller's store.

Only taxonomies naming vendors or sellers are read — categories, tags and
brands are left alone.

2.2.1

Fixed: updating the plugin switched support requests off and emptied the
support address. Deleting a plugin is how people update one that is not in
the WordPress directory, and these settings were being cleared on that path
along with the plugin's working state. They now survive an update, like the
pairing does, and are removed only after Disconnect.

2.2.0

Complaints about a seller's product now reach that seller, with a copy to
you. Works on any marketplace plugin — WC Vendors, Dokan, WCFM,
MultiVendorX — because the seller is found by their role rather than by
which plugin is installed. 2.1.0 only looked for Dokan and WCFM, so shops
running anything else never saw the option at all.

Sellers awaiting approval are never sent a customer's complaint.

Order details now include the product behind each line, so a complaint can
be tied to the exact item that was bought rather than matched on its name.

2.1.0

New: Support requests. When somebody reports a problem in the chat and the
bot cannot answer it, the details are emailed to you — with a copy to the
person who wrote in, and Reply-To set to them so answering takes one click.

On a Dokan or WCFM marketplace, a complaint about a vendor's product can go
straight to that vendor. Your own products, and anything where the product
is not certain, come to you.

Support requests are OFF until you switch them on. Updating does not turn
them on.

Rate limited: three per person an hour, thirty across the site, so nobody
can use the widget to flood your inbox.

The signature check that protects order lookup now protects this too — one
copy of it, shared.

2.0.0

New: Order lookup. Customers can ask the chat about their own orders once
the Botly service has verified who they are.

New: Refund requests. A customer can ask for a refund through the chat. The
request is recorded and noted on the order; nothing is refunded automatically
and no money moves without you.

Order lookup is OFF until you switch it on. Updating the plugin does not
turn it on.

Addresses, phone numbers and payment details are never sent.

1.2.0

Product, price and stock sync for WooCommerce.

AI chatbot that learns your website and answers visitors 24/7 in their own language.
